We are very close to another big event by Apple in October – the announcement for new iPads. As usual, there will be upgrades for the existing models such as iPad Air and also iPad mini with Retina Display. A very promising rumour right now is the new iPads will be available in a new colour – gold – for the upcoming facelift.

The new iPad Air will be equipped with a 9.7-inch Retina Display. This new model will be shipped starting 21.10.2014 together with two traditional colours- space grey and silver.

Guo Min-chi, an Analyst, pointed out that the iPad Air will have a new Samsung Display and a 2GB RAM. These new hardwares are supported by the 64-bit A8 processor and also the Touch ID fingerprint recognition system.

As for the third generation iPad mini, rumours say only Touch ID will be added to the model and no other changes will be made. However, the new iPad mini will only be available by early 2015 together with the Apple Watch.
