Sony Mobile Hong Kong on their facebook page released a bunch of beautiful poolside photos along with their Xperia ZR announcement event which showcases its advanced underwater smartphone based on their earlier Xperia Z, the flagship phone in the year of 2013.
During the announcement event Sony showcased their water-proof and dust proof model Xperia ZR which has the highest standard IP55/IP58 water-proof design. The water-proof casing allows your phone to sink into 1.5 m deep water for 30 minutes. The ZR also has a physical cameras shutter button for better photo shoot under water. The ZR has an Exmor RS for mobile image processing technology which also supports HDR images and recording. The ZR is equipped with a 13 mega pixel camera which shoots even better images than the Samsung Galaxy SIV. Yet, this device which is specialized for sports and active users only has a 4.6 inch Full HD display which works with the Sony exclusive Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The ZR is available in black, white, pink and green colour.
This device again shows Sony’s determination to make sporty phones that won’t be afraid of water. As Samsung is joining a battle with their latest Samsung Galaxy S IV Active, it would soon become a trend and a normal specification in any mobile phones in the future.
