Gary Kovacs, CEO of Mozilla said in D: Dive into Mobile convention, the first batch of FireFox OS will be launched 5 countries in Europe including Spain and Portugal. There will be another 11 countries joining the Firefox OS in late 2013 but US market will need to wait until 2014 for this OS on smartphones.

Why are they choosing Europe as the first point of launch? They said that the Europe welcomes Firefox than other continents and releasing a single version of Firefox OS smartphone doesn’t mean much.

LG, ZTE and Huawei are also working on Firefox OS smartphones and these new flagships are going to be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Afterall, the Firefox OS phones are more targeting on budget users who are looking for mid-low range smarphones.
