Two of the most popular messaging applications out there are jumping to new platforms soon!

WhatsApp, the immensely popular cross platform messaging application, is now available on Blackberry 10 Z10 devices. The app hopes to bring a cross platform alternative to Blackberry Messenger to the platform. The application is a native version for Blackberry, not just an Android port. It is available in the Blackberry App World now, so go check it out if you’re lucky enough to own a Z10.

Similarly, the application Viber has been confirmed as coming soon to Windows Phone and Blackberry 10 devices. The Windows Phone version is apparently nearly finished so you can expect it soon. The Blackberry 10 application is merely “in development” at the moment with no time frame for release. There is also no word on whether it will be a native application or an Android port.

It’s good to see that users of some of the less popular platforms will have messaging options now. This should help drive customers to those platforms as well, making it a win win for the developers and the phone companies.
