ASUS has been doing great on those Phablets which consist of a smartphone docking with a tablet, but it is not something affordable indeed. Recently ASUS rolled out their latest invention called the PadFone Infinity. The tech specs for the Infinity was awesome but the price is around 999 Euro. If you still want something like the Padfone, you might consider TransPhone 2.
TransPhone 2 is a cheaper option of the PadFone. They have the same docking design but with extremely different price. Basic version of the TransPhone 2 will have a 1GHz Duo Core Processor, 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal storage. The Screen size of the TransPhone 2 is 4-inch TFT with 845 x 480 resolution. The camera quality is not appealing with only 5 mega-pixe. Its brother, the TransPad has an 8-inch 1024 x 768 display and the battery capacity is 4,000 mAh.
There’s another proversion of the TransPhone. It is an advanced 1GB RAM, 8GB Internal Storage, 32GB SD Card (unchangeable) That makes the storage greatly improved. It has a 8 mega-pixel camera compared to the 5 mega-pixel in the Basic Version. With the same screen size of the phone and tablet, ASUS will use IPS for the screens.
TransPhone 2 Pro+ which on top of the TP2 Pro specification offers 32 GB on board as well as 32 GB of internal SD card (total = 64 GB). In addition, the front-facing camera has a 3-megapixel sensor and Gorilla glass is used on both the phone and TransPad. Expected retail is about $449.
The Basic version is priced at $299 USD, Pro version is $399 USD. QuadCore version will come in late 2013.
