Qualcomm released latest 4G LTE chip that saves 20% of battery.

Trust me, don’t believe Apple who said that 4G LTE cost the same amount of battery as 3G on their iPhone 5 announcement event. Aside iPhone 5 has its own battery issues, the 4G LTE is a real battery killer. This is confirmed by lots of customers and technician to be real.

Qualcomm announced its latest RF360 chip, which supports more than 40 LTE frequencies worldwide. RF360 works with LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, WCDMA, EV-DO, CDMA 1x, TD-SCDMA and GSM/EDGE…etc.

Qualcomm’s new design has a smaller size and claimed to be more battery efficient(save around 20%) of battery. Not only can this new chip save battery, but it can also allow smartphones and tablets to have a thinner design. RF360 is expected to be available to manufacturers in late 2013. This indeed hints that later in 2013, there will be much thinner smartphones to be rolled out.
