OOPS! It has been a day of major Android leaks! Someone at Motorola made a big boo boo earlier today by leaking details about the X-Phone on LinkedIn, and now someone at Qualcomm has messed up and leaked details about the next version of Android! What a day!
Android Police representatives found Qualcomm documents earlier today which laid out critical information about their own chipset roadmap and the history of Android. It explicitly said “Key Lime Pie” and slated the OS for a release this Spring / Summer (between March and June).
While this might have just been speculation before, things got VERY interesting later that evening when Qualcomm issued a cease and desist and ordered Android Police to take down the article. There’s no better way to confirm a guilty conscience than with a legal takedown request.
So what does this all mean? Well I think we can expect a Motorola NeXus 5 running a Qualcomm chip and shipping with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie announced between March and June (possibly at Google I/O). This mobile game is a puzzle and you just have to see which pieces fit. This is the evidence so far.
