iPad in China? Not so fast

Chinese city seizes Apple iPads in name dispute (myway.com)

In what may cause complications to Apple in its effort to sell iPads, a Shenzhen company has filed a trademark violation complaint in January with the commercial bureau of Beijing. The company which filed the compliant is Shenzhen Proview Technology. It demonstrated that it owns the ipad name from as early as 2001. However, Apple claims that it bought the naming rights from a Taiwan Proview affiliate in 2000. The mainland company insists that they still own the ipad name in China. Since this report, authorities have seized Apple iPads due to the dispute.

This should make it very interesting how Apple will tread through this one.
