It has been the third day since the LINE App is removed from Apple App Store. This challenger of WhatsApp gains popularity after its appearance in few months and especially in the Asian Pacific Region. Although Apple and its App Store is notorious about pulling some sensitive material down, this time seems strange because they are taking down a messaging App without any explicit content.
It seems many of us are very concerned about this incident from our previous post iMessage, WhatsApp vs. LINE, however, it would be a sad news to tell they are not putting their App on shelf until they get the approval from App Store again.
The question comes: Why are they still letting existing users use this App, if there are any specific problems? If they found their system susceptible to hacks or security leak, why not closing down the whole service for a while until everything is cleared? People remain very skeptical towards them because it seems the whole process is not transparent enough to let users know what actually happened. We, as consumers, have our rights to know more about this. As this is a popular App, they, both App Store and NAVER, really need to be responsible.
A pity for those who haven’t downloaded this App, but for those have downloaded, that doesn’t mean you are perfectly safe. So be careful not to expose any confidential information
Update: Naver LINE App is now back online! See our latest post!
