iPhone 5C screen curved because of battery inflation?

20140302-151650.jpg

I just got my iPhone 5c running for about 4 months and now it is sure that it has to go for a check

up at the Genius Bar. From what I observe as shown in the photo above, the iPhone 5c’s glass screen has popped up and and the home button is not working even it feels the same as before.

When I pressed the phone screen it feels very hard and it doesn’t seem like the anything happened with the fixture of the phone. I checked the tear down photos of iPhone 5c and figure that the battery is located exactly around the same place in the iPhone so my rough guess would be an inflated iPhone 5c battery causing the popped out screen.

Will confirm with you guys later

Update: I was given a replacement immediately when I reached the Genius Bar. I got a chance to look at my unit and saw an inflated battery inside the iPhone. It inflated by half. The genius staff said it was normal because the battery is still safe. Really, when I looked at the battery, I thought that it was going to explode. Anyways, a free replacement worked for me.

iPhone 5S is celebrating its 1.5 month old this week but many rumours online are starting to dig out problems with it. Aside an explosion spread yesterday from China, another netizen was quoted as saying that the iPhone 5S he held experienced unexpected noise on the retina display after using the social networking application wechat. The noise covered almost half of the screen and was persistent after quitting the application. So far there was only, again, one incident with the iPhone 5S and it cannot constitute a substantial evidence that iPhone 5S has manufacturing flaws.

Apple is short of Retina Displays? Rumours point out that Apple is buying displays from Samsung Again

20131105-111845.jpg

Apple has been declining its reliance on Samsung as a component provider due to its ongoing legal disputes with Samsung. Apple did have mentioned that they would reduce over-reliance on the products of Samsung and procure parts and components from elsewhere. However, rumours purport that Apple is not honouring its pledge.

Apple is said to be in discussion with Samsung for a new batches of Retina Displays, which were currently supplied by LG and Sharp. The two providers seem to fall short of the enormous market demand for Apple products, resulting in Apple’s need for urgent backup from Samsung. Its CEO Tim Cook, mentioned earlier that they would not have enough stocks of iPad mini. Quoted as saying the expected failure to meet demand, Cook was thought to be implying that they don’t have enough Retina Display.

How to get rid of bitstrips on Facebook newsfeed?

The bitstrips cartoons are very prominent nowadays on Facebook where a bunch of pictures were made by your friends to make fun of themselves or others. Some of them are funny but meanwhile repetitive. Some of us may wonder whether there is a way to hide all these posts and remain a clean news feed on Facebook. The answer is yes!

You can always go to account settings and get the to “block applications” path and enter the name of applications bothering you, for example bitstrips and candy crush. Having been input to the block list, the applications concerned will never push feeds to distract you anymore until later removed.

There is also another functions of blocking an application: prevent the access to your personal data such as friends list, personal particulars, birthday, photos and so on…

If you have played some Facebook or mobile games before, you might still be receiving the push notifications on your devices. If you decide to stop playing games of such, you may also wish to block them by following the instructions above.
